With a pen and a piece of paper, and all alone, I can stage a whole theatre on paper.
Picture book is your own thought, without any influence from other people’s procedures or experiences. And the only way to make it work is to sort yourself through, to see your thought clearer as well as your own voice, image and language composition.
There are always different ways to get to the truth, as everybody’s real language of thought and conceptual pictures in his/her mind are unique and different from others.
熊亮簡歷
熊亮: 浙江嘉興人，現居北京，中國知名繪本作家,畫家。他的作品注重富有節奏線條和虛實相生的墨色，無論從故事到畫面都透露出一種特異而疏離的美感。同時繪者又是一位出色的詩歌、散文作者，這些都為其繪畫注入了豐厚廣博的特質。早期作品有《變形記》《小石獅》《京劇貓》等，最近作品《梅雨怪》《金剛師》三聯書店。
Xiong Liang:
Xiong Liang, born in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, lives in Beijing right now. He is a well-known picture book writer and painter in China. His works emphasizes the use of ink color, characterized by rhythmic lines and a contrast of the virtual and the real. Both his story narration and pictures ooze special charm and alienating beauty. Meanwhile, being a brilliant poet and prose writer also helps him to inject richness and variety into his painting. His earlier works include “The Metamorphosis”, “A Little Stone Lion”and “Peking Opera Cat”. His most recent works, such as “The Meiyu (Plum Rains) Monster” and “Jingang Shi”(Kingkong Teacher),have been published by The Joint Publishing Company Ltd., Beijing.
