2001年畢業於英國倫敦“Middlesex University”藝術系，獲得碩士學位 (畢業展覽獲“一級榮譽”評分)。2000年畢業於英國諾定咸“Nottingham Trent University”藝術系，獲得榮譽學士學位。現為澳門理工學院藝術高等學校全職講師和澳門牛房倉庫藝術空間和全藝社節目策劃。
曾組織策劃多個藝術展覽，包括2011「研虛」－鄧肯‧蒙特弗裝置作品展、2010「澳門影像─澳門實驗錄像作品」─EX!T 2010台灣國際實驗媒體藝術展、2007年和2008年之「又講又展」－錄像藝術活動、2006年於英國「地方的神話」等。曾在不同地方(英國、美國、瑞士、葡萄牙、韓國、中國北京、上海、廣州、台灣、香港和澳門)展出作品。展覽包括於2011葡萄牙里斯本「歸屬感的想像空間」；2010中國北京「人類情感─國際錄像巡迴展」；2007年瑞士日內瓦「Dependence - independence」錄像藝術展；2006年香港parasite藝術空間「拾發」和澳門藝術博物館「顯微境•觀」；2005年韓國大田市「澳門印象－韓國大田市立美術館多媒體藝術特邀展」、英國Bournemouth市「The Empty Quarter」和入選英國倫敦“Refocus-Now”主辦“2003國際公開影像比賽”等等。
Gained Master of Art in Fine Art, Middlesex University in 2001 in London, UK (“First Class” in Final Exhibition); and BA(Hons) in Fine Art, Nottingham Trent University in 2000 in Nottingham, UK. As a full-time lecturer in the School of Arts, Macao Polytechnic Institute and Programme Curator in Macao Ox warehouse Art Space and AFA (Art For All Society) in the present day.
The curating jobs include the “Study Void” – Duncan Mountford Installation Artwork Exhibition(2011), the “Image of Macao --- the experimental video works from Macao”, EX!T 2010 – the Experimental Media Art Festival in Taiwan(2010), the “Talks & Exhibition” -Video Art Activities(2007 & 2008), the “Myth of Place” in UK(2006) etc. Has been exhibiting in different places (UK, USA, Switzerland, Portugal, Korea, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao). The exhibitions are the “Imaginary Belongings”, Lisbon, Portugal(2011); “Human Emotion Project (HEP)” --- International Artists using Film & Video, Beijing, Mainland China(2010); “Dependence - independence” video art screening, Geneve, Switzerland (2007); “Octomania (on drawing the number eight)”, Parasite art space, Hong Kong(2006); “Microcosmo” – Chinese Contemporary Art, Macau Art Museum, Macao (2006); “2005 Daejeon FAST – Image of Macao”, Gallery of Hanbat Library, Library of Daejeon City, Korea(2005); “The Empty Quarter”, Bournemouth, UK(2005) and “The 2003 International Open Image Competition (IOI) Showcase”, in London, UK(2003). etc.

中國內地實驗電影與錄影的多樣性和新樣態
此處選擇的十部中國實驗短片作品，均選自“CIFF第八屆中國獨立影像年度展”中的“短片展映單元”（由衛西諦選片）和“實驗短片邀請展”（由炭歎策展），代表了近兩年來中國實驗電影與錄影的最新創作和發展態勢，在類型上，包括實驗劇情片、實驗記錄片、逐幀動畫、二維綜合動畫、錄影藝術、私電影等多種風格樣式，作者群身份有職業藝術家、美院教師、大學生、獨立電影人等，年齡跨度從五十歲到二十歲不等，呈現了近年來中國內地實驗電影與錄影蓬勃發展的多樣性和新樣態。
Diversity in experimental film and video and new trends in mainland China
Intro: These ten Chinese experimental short cinematic works have been selected from Short Films Screening Session (programmed by Wei Xidi) and Experimental Short Films Invitational Exhibition (curated by Tantan) of the 8th CIFF - China Independent Film Festival. They illustrate latest creations and development trends of Chinese experimental short film and video. The selected works include experimental drama, experimental documentary, frame-animation, 2D comprehensive animation, video art and personal films, presenting a variety of styles created by professional artists, teachers from art academies, university students and independent filmmakers whose ages span from 20 to 50. The works reveal the diversity and new trends of experimental film and video flourishing in mainland China.

策展人Curator：曹愷 Cao Kai
曹愷，生於1969年，畢業于南京藝術學院。曾在影視媒體工作多年，2000年後創立個人工作室，成為自由撰稿人、獨立製片人、導演。
自1994年起介入當代藝術領域，以錄影、攝影、裝置等為主要藝術媒介，多次參加國內外當代藝術活動，是目前國內重要的錄影藝術家。
自2003年起，作為主要策劃人，參與策劃、主持了歷屆中國獨立影像年度展，積極推廣中國獨立電影和實驗影像的展映和傳播。
其學術研究範疇橫跨錄影藝術的創作及批評、非劇情片史、紀錄片、實驗電影等多個方面，曾在高校開設新媒體藝術、實驗短片等邊緣性影視課程。
主要著作有《紀錄與實驗：DV影像前史》；主編有《中國獨立影像年度展》手冊。
Cao Kai was born in Changzhou, Jiang Su province in 1969. He was graduated from Nanjing Arts Academy. He has worked in film and video media for a number of years. In 2000, he set up his own art studio and established himself as independent artist, curator, writer, film producer and director.
As an artist, he has engaged in contemporary art scene since 1995 and has participated in many art activities in China and other countries, with the use of video, photography, and video installation as the main art media. At present, he is one of the important video artists in China.
As a curator and organizer, he promotes actively the exhibition of Chinese independent film and experimental video, and has taken part in organizing and hosting The China Independent Film Festival.
His academic research stretches across video arts, experimental movie, the production and comment of documentary film. He once opened several film and video related courses in institute such as new media art and experimental short film. In addition, he has published many academic articles in several contemporary art magazines. is one of his main writing.
