The city of Beijing decided that the old popular neighborhood Qian Men has to be "rehabilitated". It is now in the line of fire of the promoters, and the 80,000 people living there are facing drastic changes. The film follows the rapidly changing life in the neighborhood for more than one year and a half, drawing its portrait and recording a memory of disappearing reality.
