Homage to Masters Who Inspired Us －Works by 10 Hong Kong and Macao Artists

這是個透過作品探討「創作」是怎麼一回事的展覽。

每當我們在各種場所見到、接觸到不同類型的藝術作品時，靜心欣賞，在被觸動之餘，不期然會問：

-究竟這些作品是怎樣產生的？

-作品背後是否賦予什麼含意？

-那些創作人可有受過什麼藝術大師的影響？

-很想知道這些創作人是怎麼思考的？

思考，這回事讓人著迷，也常讓人摸不到當中的脈絡，當然先要透過作品、透過創作人的表現形式，我們才算開了一道窗戶得以一窺奧秘。

每個創作人在成長階段都或多或少受過某位大師的影響，又或者不一定是某個人，或許是某個時期的創作傾向以至某種人文氣息所感染的影響。

儘管創作的路好長好長，創作人所經歷的階段也各不相同，這次邀請到十位港澳藝術家參與展覽，分別是香港畫家、音樂人又是電影人的黃仁逵，詩人、作家又是攝影師的廖偉棠，資深澳門畫家廖文暢，居澳俄羅斯畫家君士坦丁，大學教授羅婉儀，古建築專家呂澤強，雕塑家黃家龍，還有年青一輩的創作人黎小傑、霍凱盛和姚詠思。

透過各人的創作，希望可以回到作品本身去尋找各自心中的大師。

This exhibition tries to explore what is ‘creation’ through the showcased works.

Some questions will come to our mind as we appreciate at various venues artworks of different types that strike a chord in us:

– How were these works produced?

– Do the works have any connotations?

– Were creators influenced by any masters?

– What has been their creative thinking?

An artist’s thinking or creative idea is quite an intriguing matter, without a clear context for one to grasp. So it’s clear that only through the work and its expressional forms, we may have a clue of what the artist thinks.

During so-called formative stage, every creative type would be influenced, more or less, by someone or something, including dominant creative trends or cultural atmosphere.

The creative journey is a long one and artists go through different development stages. This time we invited, from Hong Kong, Wong Yan-kwai, painter, musician and movie art director and Liu Wai Tong, poet, writer and photographer; from Macau, Lio Man Cheong, a seasoned painter, Konstantin Bessmertny, a Russian artist living in the MSAR, Yuen Yi Lo, university professor, Lui Chak Keong, an expert in ancient architecture, Coke Wong Ka Long, sculptor, as well as several younger artists like Lai Sio Kit, Eric Fok and Vinsa Io Weng Si.

In their creations, we can try to find the masters that have inspired these artists.
