Take the 5:10 to Dreamland—Taiwan Reincarnated Film Program
挪用舊片/現有影片衍用實驗電影大師Bruce Conner的作品《搭五點十分到夢鄉》的片名作為台灣再生電影專題的節目名稱，《搭五點十分到夢鄉》將毫不相干的舊有的科普教育影片與紀錄片以集合藝術的創作方式剪接組合，影像如詩般地製造出神祕的夢境，讓觀眾沈入深不見底的潛意識裡。從前衛藝術形式的現成物、拾得物、集合藝術到實驗電影的回收電影與舊片/現有影片衍用的創作觀念，再延伸到數位的科技的操縱，電影到數位的轉換、轉錄與下載，電影膠捲不再有實體的存在，在一個接著一個的影像之夢裡，影像被摧毀之後，還可以重生，科幻片中的衝擊被粉碎，成為抽象的粒子圖像，劇情片的戲劇張力被消解了，產生另一個非敘事的夢，夢再被摧毀，毀滅然後再生，夢中有夢，夢在夢中，不斷地繁衍。台灣的再生電影專題節目呈現更多元的現有素材與創新的創作觀念，有來自對身體的考察到色情圖像的再造，有家族相簿與家庭電影，個人遊記與生命史的回憶片段，從自己的創作脈絡與對社會議題的關照出發，再到遠古的權力圖騰與手工膠捲的探索，台灣的再生電影無所不能地將任何的影像都能再製創作，賦於全新的生命與詮釋。
I appropriate found-footage filmmaking experimental film master Bruce Conner's film title, “Take the 5:10 to Dreamland” as the program title of Taiwan Reincarnated Film. “Take the 5:10 to Dreamland” is edited with education films and documentaries in the way of assamblage. Images poetically produce mysterious dream, involving the spectators deeply into unconsciousness. From the making of readymade, found object, and assamblage of avant-garde to the found-footage filmmaking concept of experimental film, and furthermore to the concept of digital technology mastering; from film to the digital transition, rerecording, and downloading, film footage has no longer concrete existence. Film can be reborn from destruction through the dream of images. The strike in Si-fi film is smashed, and reborn into abstract particle images; the dramatic tension of narrative film is dispelled, and reborn into a non-narrative dream. Dream is destroyed once more, and reborn. Dream has the dream of itself, dream is in the dream itself, and continue to breed. Taiwan Reincarnated Film Program represents multi-dimensional creation concepts of readymade materials and innovation from body study and reproducing images from porn film, from family album to Home Movie, from personal travelog and memory clips of life history. Starting from personal creating history to the concerning of social issues, and then the ancient power totem to exploration of handmade film, Taiwan Reincarnated Film can always re-create and re-produce every image and give new birth of life and interpretation.

吳俊輝，美國紐約巴德學院米爾頓．艾佛利藝術研究所藝術創作碩士，主修電影製作。美國舊金山藝術學院藝術創作學士，主修電影製作。影像-運動電影協會創始成員與策展人。電影作品曾於法國巴黎龐畢度中心、美國紐約現代美術館、舊金山電影中心、紐約「勞勃．畢克紀念電影」實驗電影中心放映。《感傷之旅》（2003）獲第2003年五屆台北電影節台北電影獎最佳實驗片首獎；《諾亞諾亞》（2003）獲第2004年六屆台北電影節台北電影獎最佳實驗片首獎與第二十七屆金穗獎優等影片獎。2006年台北雙年展：（限制級）瑜珈參展藝術家，展出《（男孩）轉世》（2003）與《歐洲甦醒》（2006）。2009年曾擔任第二屆牯嶺街國際小劇場藝術節-「形影相析（／晰）」策展人、2009年台北電影節台北電影獎遴選委員、2009年EXiS首爾實驗電影展國際競賽評審、2010年高雄電影節評審、2011年女性影展台灣影片評審。EX!T 2010台灣國際實驗媒體藝術展策展人暨亞洲論壇計畫主持人。現任世新大學廣電系專任助理教授。
Tony Wu Chun-Hui received his BFA, major in Filmmaking at San Francisco Art Institute and a MFA in Film/Video, Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College, New York. He is a co-founder and curator of Image –Movement Cinematheque. His films have been shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, San Francisco Cinematheque, and Robert Beck Memorial Cinema in New York etc. His film “Sentimental Journey” (2003) was named the Best Experimental Film at 2003 Taipei Film Festival, and “Noah, Noah” (2004) won the same award at 2004 Taipei Film Festival and the 27th Golden Harvest Award. He presents “Incarnation (Boy)” (2003) and “Europe Resurrection” (2006) at the 2006 Taipei Biennial: Dirty Yoga, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Taiwan. He was a curatot for 2009 Guling Street Little Theatre Arts Festival—with (out) cinema, member of selection committee for 2009 Taipei Film Festival, jury for International competition at 2009 Experimental Film and Video Festival in Seoul, jury for 2010 Kaohsiung Film Festival, and selection committee for 2011 Women Make Wave Film Festival. He is a program director for EXiT 2010-Experimental Media Art Festival in Tawian, and an assistant professor, Department of Radio, Television and Film, at Shih Hsin University.
