十七位來自台灣、香港、中國大陸和澳門的青年藝術家匯聚於牛房倉庫同場展出他們具獨特個性和內涵的作品，也藉此難得的機會作面對面交流和討論。
各位參展藝術家都非常年青，大部份都是剛剛離開大學校園，有有些甚至已完成或正在修讀碩士課程，也有部份還是大學生，名副其實的藝術「新鮮人」。
他們的作品無論在觀念和表現形式上都有著一股「新鮮」清朗的氣息。雖然他們都是在中華文化區成長和接受教育，但由於各自有明顯不同的背景，也可以看到當中所關心的事物和所受的影響是有差異的──有的喜愛探討幻象、虛假、夢境和現實之間的關係；有的是對於生命意義的探求；有的是對當代現象的反思；有的是尋找個人身份的認同……。而在媒體的運用也豐富而多樣，除了平面繪畫、雕塑外，還有裝置、錄像和混合媒材等，多元化的作品承載著他們各自對生活的獨特感受和對當代藝術創作的追求。展覽中有七件參展作品是選自牛房倉庫於今年八、九月期間舉辦的一個藝術創作課程中學員的創作方案。此創作課程也屬於「新鮮人」活動計劃的一部份。「新鮮人」-- 兩岸四地當代青年藝術家作品展將展現這些青年藝術家的活力與熱誠。
There are 17 young artists, coming from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macao, showing their artworks of distinctive characteristic and thoughtfulness together in Ox warehouse. And they can grasp this good opportunity to exchange and discuss with others face to face.
The participating artists are all very “Fresh”, the greater part of them have just graduated from university, parts of them have even gained the MA degree, and some of them are still studying master or undergraduate course. Their artworks, whatever the concept and the form of expression, are full of “fresh”, clear and bright ideas apparently. Even though they all are brought up and educated in the so called Chinese Culture Area, there is discrepancy obviously in those things they are concerned more, and how they have been influenced from their respectively different context -- one tries to explore illusion, fake, dream and reality; one explores the meaning of life; one introspects on contemporary phenomena; one seeks a personal identity... And the application of media is diverse, except for paintings and sculptures, there are installations, videos and mixed media etc. The artworks show how the new generation expresses individually their distinctive response to life and their pursuit of art. Moreover, seven pieces among those participating artworks are selected from the students’ proposals in an art course which is also part of “Fresh artists” programme held in Ox warehouse on August and September this year. “Fresh Artists” – The Art Exhibition of Young Artists from the Cross Strait 4 Regions will present the vitality and eagerness of these young artists.
