Program description:
This SWITZERLAND àß ASIA collaboration aims to motivate composers and musicians from such distant countries and diverse cultures such as Korea, or China and Switzerland to a dynamic exchange of their differing contemporary artistic practices and realities. Such an exchange is a challenge and prompts the artist to take a conscious position within his or her culture and society. We hope that this experience inspires and provokes a lively discourse on contemporary artistic production and music making between the various cultures at play.
The musical collaboration among Keller, Gloor with the composers Chung, Rosenberger and Weber has experienced a promising start at the Festival Weimarer Frühlingstage in April 2009 and at a concert soirée featuring a reading by Swiss writer Peter Stamm at the ignm (International Society for Contemporary Music) concert series at the Kunstraum Walcheturm, Zürich, on April 24, 2009.
This concert is part of a three concert series in Hong Kong and Macau. The collaboration with the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble marks the core of this Asian tour, as these concerts feature a close encounter on stage of Hong Kong and Swiss musicians performing as one group John Cage’s Variations VI.

Actually, this exhibition is continued from the workshop of "Children and Adults Fun Land”, organized by the Old Ladies’ House Art Space also, started from April this year. First, according to the children’s living environment and through games and DIY teaching aids, the tutors have introduced the kids to understand the intriguing relationship of space. Then, the kids have been allowed to develop their creativities and share their feelings. Except for the children, some of adults have participated in the workshop too. Through observing and learning from each other’s artworks, the creative inspiration was stimulated and the imaginative space was expanded. Finally, a little fun land was established.

For its Duo Exhibition Art Project 2009, Ox Warehouse is presenting a photography exhibition titled Dual Visions by Ho Ka Cheng and Chan Ka Keong.
As suggested by the title, “Dual Visions” points out two distinct visions of life by the two artists. Based on photos taken from everyday life and travel experiences, the exhibition attempts to establish the relationship between artistic creation and living experience, thus creating a dialogue of visual languages.
The photographs presented in “Dual Visions” are records of two different experiences and thoughts. Ho Ka Cheng through his photographs searches the undiscovered beauty of daily life; while Chan Ka Keong seeks to establish the link between his travel experiences and his own inner journey.

Technological and economic breakthroughs seem to have led us and our lifestyle into an idealistic era. In today’s revolutionary times, what does Utopia mean? Utopia, apart from being an emblem of idealistic realms, is also commonly interpreted as an unrealistic and purely imaginary goal. Then, where we currently are, is it an idealistic world or just an illusion?
